JJrad
I’m wondering about how the final grade is achieved when looking at all the sub grades. Centering 5.5 Corners 3.5 Edges 4.5 Surface 3 what is the final grade and how is that configured?
jsrva
With BGS the highest overall grade you can receive is 0.5 above the lowest subgrade. So with the hypothetical card you mention the highest overall grade you can fetch would be a 3.5. Not sure how CSG's algo works. JJrad
Popular Post CardHero
This is from the FAQ page here at csg "...the final grade can be no more than 1 point higher than the lowest sub-grade. In addition, if the two lowest sub-grades are the same, then that is the final grade for the card." ItismeH, JJrad and Matt Macaluso
Legacy Man
I was wondering how a CSG graded card would end up with a final grade of 8.5 with the following four grades: Centering 9.5 Corners 9.5 Edges 8.0 Surface 9.0 Final Grade: 8.5 Is the Edges grade a more important calculation in the final grade of a card? Thank You Edited May 1, 2021 by Legacy Man

To get the whole 1.0 higher, everything else has to be really strong, I'm guessing...a 0.5 bump above the lowest grade is the most common and usual. So maybe if the surface was 9.5 you might have got a 9 overall. But there's a bit of the unknown in what definitely makes a .5 or 1.0 above the lowest sub-grade. I get the poker reference, I just don't understand in what context he's applying this in. Whether that's alluding to gambling with CGC not grading 10s or what.
