Varela
1st time submitter here, and I was wondering if the 9.5 rating is only an option if you buy sub grades. Does anyone know?
CardHero
The only grade you can't get without subs should just be "10 Perfect". No reason you couldn't get 9.5 jsrva
jsrva
I received three 9.5 on my last sub and did not elect to get subgrades.

No reason you couldn't get 9.5 This makes absolutely zero sense to me. A CARD'S GRADE ON THE LABEL SHOULD READ THE EXACT GRADE IT RECEIVED. ****AT THE VERY LEAST, IF MY CARD QUALIFIES FOR A PERFECT 10, BUT SUBGRADES WEREN'T PURCHASED, CONTACT ME WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PAY UP FOR THE GRADE, IF YOU AREN'T JUST GOING TO GIVE IT TO ME ON THE ULTRA RARE OCCASION IT'S MERITED!!! CardHero
^ I agree, if your card would be a "10 Perfect", they should definitely contact you and give you that information and choice to add subs...it would be prestigious for them to have a known perfect card in a csg holder, as well as benefit the customer of course. jsrva
Chris1096
Really? I had no idea you could not get a 10 perfect without buying sub grades. This seems like a loophole for selling and buying and on top of that a cash grab. First thing I have heard about CSG that I am very disappointed in. You can get the 10 Pristine, just not the Perfect since you don't know if all 4 subs are 10s or not.
Jeremiah Gardner
Obviously you can get a pristine 10 without sub graded, just not a perfect 10. You can definitely get a 9.5 as well. Matt Macaluso

jwhauser
I still find it interesting that you can't get a "perfect" score when the criteria hasn't changed. It's not like CSG is only evaluating the four criteria when you pay the additional $10. It's the same criteria all the time, right? But they obviously do, it seems like a really dumb move for all concerned not to put the actual grade the card received on the label. I mean it's not like we're paying you for that.... CollectorBB
Same applies with BGS 10 Black ... can't get it if grading without subs.
Chris1096
So what CSG is telling us is there is two different grading processes. I wonder how they grade a sub grade versus a non subgrade? Jeremiah Gardner
jsrva
Are there any documented PERFECT 10s yet? Just curious... ItismeH

LesGrossman
makes no sense you can't get a perfect 10. not adding anything new, but i just had to say it (and I paid for subgrades so it doesnt affect me).
CowboySooner
I just hope that a graded card without subgrades isn't looked at like a BCCG slab. I sent in 7 cards without subgrades and didnt think about that until they were gone. But really not going to pay $10 extra any how.
