northkorea
Is it possible to submit autographed cards without paying the $2 autograph grade fee?
Administrator CardGrader Posted April 19, 2021 Administrator Report Share Posted April 19, 2021 No, all manufacturer autos (pack-pulled) must have the auto graded. ItismeH

I was an early adopter and I paid for the auto grading but y’all returned them to me without them. Not bringing it up as a complaint on my part. I don’t mind eating the $10 and don’t want to deal with a resub to fix. ItismeH

kled2000
Glass half full kind of thing... I graded them more for preservation than secondary value. Auto grades are certainly something that an average collector shouldn’t really rely on to determine if they like the way the signature looks IMO. I’m indifferent towards the “grade” of an auto and rely more on the aesthetic of the auto to determine if I favor one vs another...

tmoore_25
I don't understand CardGrader's comment. If it is a requirement for all pack pulled manufacturer autos to be graded then why do you offer the check box for auto grading on your submission form? Cards with other autographs are not eligible for CSG certification. That means you only grade pack pulled autos. There should be a blanket statement that says "All cards with manufacturer certified autos will be graded regardless whether you (the owner) wants them to or not and we are going to charge you $2 to do so." That way people know what they are getting into when they submit. Very misleading on your website and I can see someone making a big issue of it if they didn't want the auto grade and you force them to pay for it. It is my option whether I want you to just grade the card or if I want you to grade the card and the auto. In that case, you owe kled2000 either some auto grades or, since you charge them anyway, you owe him $2 per card that did not receive an auto grade.
