Will CSG Have a new Surge of Grading Submissions? Curious to see what their turn around times will be.

PSA just announced 3/30/21 that, "Effective immediately, PSA is temporarily suspending our Value, Regular and Express service levels.  This will allow us to fully unbox and receive the recent surge of orders and focus on our most impacted service lines. . . . We will take a tiered approach to reintroducing these service levels.  Our goal is to bring all suspended service levels back by July 1, 2021."  This announcement puts CSG at an interesting crossroad.  Probably a surge in their grading business which is good for them and a chance to show what they can do, that is grade cards consistently, accurately and within reasonable turn around times. Time will tell.

I'm wondering if one of the biggest things to fix is in the receiving shop.   Seems like everything comes in and they don't have a method to determine (without opening) the requested status of the submission.   So in essence, everything is equal until the box is open and cards inside registered in their system.   How about giving us a bar/QR code to place on the outside of our submittal they could scan and quickly/accurately determine the requested status?   If one wishes to pay for priority service it should be from the moment it hits their PO Box.

Also wondering if the PSA move is intentional in trying to shove the lower service products to CSG (the new kid) and bring them to their knees.

Yes, this is going to crush CSG early on. They should limit submissions to a set number per week. Say 75 per address. You've got people already claiming they send in 200-300 per week. If that's the case, they are in for some pain.

Basically, sink or swim time.
