Dominic Garcia
Im new to Card Grading here fellas, just looking for some professional opinions. Is this card too far off center to even warrant getting graded?
oluckydayo
Depends on what you're grading it for. It's not a high value card even if it gets a perfect grade, which is normal for cards from this era outside of a few cases. This card would likely be worth less than the cost to grade unless you're sending in at the bulk rate of $12 (and then it would be close in a 10). If it's for your personal collection, don't let it stop you. Nothing wrong with getting it authenticated and encased for presentation, but for the majority of cards made between about 1987-1998 unless you're confident it's an absolute 10 there's not much value in grading. Is this card too far off center to even warrant getting graded? I wouldn't get that graded, unless a Tiffany... even then, I might say no. Usually, unless the card is rare or is known for poor centering, I avoid grading things worse than 55/45. Edit: Dominic, think of it this way, centering is something most anyone can tell is off or not. So, by ignoring centering, you're capping your potential grade at a lower spot. The next thing you can tell pretty easily is edge chipping. This is followed by corners. If all of those are strong, then I would submit, unless there are visible creases, scratches, or fingernail marks. Dominic Garcia
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback this info helps me a lot. It kinda confirmed what I already thought. Seems like anything from the late 80s to the mid 90s is not really worth grading unless its 1 of those rare gems.

Dominic Garcia
Ok, I will check it out for sure. It is my favorite era. It just seemed like everyone already has a lot of the rookie cards from that era due to over production.
