qq - for Topps Finest cards that have plastic on the front is it better to leave the plastic on for grading or take it off and clean the card?  Just looking for some feedback.  tks.

It depends...

Some prefer the plastic to be in place, as that is how it came out of the pack. That said, if you don't remove it, the plastic gets counted into the surface grade component. That generally hurts your grade, as the plastic might have scratches, bubbles, tears, etc.

Thanks for responding.  I might just pull it off before I send it in for grading.

If you think it could gem with the plastic on keep it! itll increase the value but its a tough gem most cases better to take off for a better grade especially now those cards getting old like the Kobe finest rookie pretty tough to get a gem with the plastic on

tks and I had three of the same card and took off the plastic on all three basically because the first two were not what I would get graded but the 3rd card was.  I think taking off the plastic is better.  IMO  tks for the input
