Don’t change CGC card labels
JohnBurke replied to EpicPulls's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
You’re right on that it’s a new grade for halfway in between mint and gem mint. This already happened for CSG a while ago. The 9.5 mint+ don’t carry too much of a premium since people mostly will pay more for the gem. Might be worth resubbing some heavy hitters, otherwise I wouldn’t bother. But this means moving forward they aren’t grading any easier, just essentially more accurate for that category -
Don’t change CGC card labels
JohnBurke replied to EpicPulls's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
Lol at “grading standards have changed” It’s literally only the scale, gem mint is still gem mint, how is this hard to understand? -

Yup and much less scuffing too than in the older days. For the packaging material and dust I always just use a can of compressed air

Slab scratches: Any strategies for buffing them out?
JohnBurke replied to tenniscardcity's topic in Sports Card Grading
I've used Plast-X on CSG/CGC slabs with success. However I always use a brand new microfiber cloth each cleaning session. I've found re used ones sometimes cause more scratches (which I then buffed out with a new one lol). Also firstly of course use something like compressed air can to remove all debree and dust. -

I know you asked about a box but just figured I’d let all know that these pages fit slabs perfectly. Actually I use graded card team bags first and then they fit super snug and further protects slabs. Throw them in a large zipper binder and good to go https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-4-Pocket-Platinum-Pockets/dp/B0009RNQN2/ref=asc_df_B0009RNQN2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167151447010&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10335113250977179840&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005495&hvtargid=pla-275056597808&psc=1

LOVE IT I have been saving a few of these for this. I remember being bummed getting packs of these when I was a kid. But pulling a holo zard shortly after I was somewhat satisfied. Even the non holo cards have cool artworks and will look good in the slabs

I'm just curious how you know the exact technology that each company has? While it may be news that PSA is just getting this technology now, how do you know that CGC/CSG haven't already been using it? Certified Collectibles Group is a $500,000,000 valued company and you are assuming things about what tech they use. Do you have any proof of cards they graded that are trimmed? If not then your assumption is only that.

I get where you’re coming from but cgc grading before this is still cgc grading the same after, regardless of who pwcc is. It’s a separate entity/event. You guys can complicate it all you want with this and that conspiracy talk, but it’s pretty simple.
-
I don’t think you understand what’s going on. CGC still grades the cards in this setup. With the same grading process. Why would you ever think they would all of the sudden start grading things they wouldn’t grade before?
-
I don't understand though, how would this negatively affect any comparison to other grading companies if they are also sold through PWCC? (PSA and BGS)

Has anyone ever done a 50 card+ submission?
JohnBurke replied to Karl_Racki's topic in Sports Card Grading
My last 50 card order of bulk I got more than than half 9.5s (green) including 6 pristine 10s. All modern -

My first submission to CSG and 125 graded cards later...
JohnBurke replied to Jaesin's topic in Sports Card Grading
Reasons why your argument is null and void and ridiculous: - you’re commenting on overall market fluctuations. That has nothing to do with grading companies. that’s on you for sending it in after the decline, csg wait time on bulk has been like 3 weeks 🤡 - if you claim that csg graded one grade lower than should be, what do the dozens of people who have that’s same Jordan card in csg 9.5s and 10s, ACTUALLY have? 10.5s and 11s? No obviously your card is just inferior and you can’t accept it. -people agree with you because they like easy psa 10s. Csg is strict grading agreed, and that’s because many believe it is a long term play in terms of value. -

JohnBurke replied to Jaesin's topic in Sports Card Grading
So I'm the clown but you're the one sending in $1 cards to get graded and "flip" for profit. And then coming onto the message boards and whining that your Near Mint card did not get a Gem Mint grade. Did you even check the pop report for this card? There are 126 graded and 93 scored higher than yours. By the SAME company that you are saying is unfairly grading your cards too harshly. Do you see the flaw in your thinking yet bud? (let me guess now you're going to say CSG has a personal vendetta against you) Either way thanks for the afternoon humor. -

New to CSG grading Question on grades
JohnBurke replied to Boyd Montgomery's topic in Ask CGC Cards – Sports
Pretty sure if it's outside available slab dimensions it comes as SA (service unavailable). Got a thick Joe Burrow RPA returned as that
