  1. The bummer is return on investment. All three companies pretty much grade accordingly. All close enuff and legit. Unfortunately people only pay proper for PSA. Prices should be equal if grades are equal. But that won't happen. so stupid. Everybody's credit report from 3 companies carries the same weight. But not card grading companies. joke and ripoff. Grade a in card for 10 bucks it ain't that hard. Allow the card owners to make some money. I have cards worth 50 bucks graded. But can't get them graded cause lose money. this mess. Sellers getting .
  2. But same problem. SGC/CSG dont bring anywhere near the PSA ROI. I think that is totally wrong. If the grading quality is all the same, the ROI should also be the same. But it is what it is and I can't do anything about it. GMA and the other alphabet soup graders have other issues. They, I dont feel they are even close to the same quality grading as PSA/CSG/SGC/BGS. (why does nobody ever ever mention Beckett. Its like the dont exist). HGA is an enigma. If you can solve the rubicks cube of submitting. They are still just a pubic hair above GMA. Again, just my opinion. Tell me Im wrong and why.
  3. Ok people, everybody gonna need to sit down. I started this thread. I am an amateur. I would say I am an expert comic and card collector since the mid 70s. I have absolutely, positively no experience in anything to do with grading. I have since learned that I suck at it. I decided I wanted to start having stuff graded to sell. So to keep this short. In the name of learning I TOTALLY TOOK ONE FOR THE TEAM. (not sure who is on my team but whatever). I won a $50 each 20 card submission from PSA. I cracked out 10 CSG graded cards I was disappointed with the grades. Figure at worst they would at least grade out the same. Was I fkn wrong!! All were a grade or half grade lower from PSA (just FYI Mantle, Clemente, Koufax, Montana, Mays). I knew they were not 7,8,9,10 but wanted to see how CSG compared to PSA. Thought I would get half to full grade higher. So i will no longer complain about CSG grades. PSA/CSG equal quality grading results. The unfortunate conclusion is the grading is comparable. Unfortunately the return on investment is not. At least at this time. PSA is way to expensive for my stuff. So lesson learned. PSA still brings more ROI than CSG. Is the ROI enough to offset the cost. Depends on how good your stuff is. Mine ain't good enuff.
  4. That helps me. I been in cards for 30 plus years. I have about 5 minutes of expertise in grading cards. I just decided to sell stuff. Graded brings more $. My initial grading attempts, well, totally had my head up my .
  5. My turnaround time from when they received the cards to when they posted my grades was literally 24 hours. How carefully did they look at the cards. I love the speed but that seems crazy and haphazard.
  6. Ok if that's the way it's done it's crazy. I had another card.. Subs 7,7,7,3. Grade was 3.5. Basically the 7s in 3 categories are irrelevant and in no way offset the 3 surface. What would a 10, 10, 20, 2 overall grade be, a 2???
  7. I sent in 11 cards for economy turnaround 40 days. CSG received them less than a week after I mailed them out. They received on them on Feb 22nd. In submission tracking I had the gradesand a return shipping date to me of Feb 24th. As I write this it still 45 minutes until it is actually Feb 24th. My cards went through the entire CSG grading process in 24 hours. Someone is yanking my chain. That is not possible. In addition all the grades were significantly lower than expected. Can someone explain how the highest sub-graded Namath card got the lowest overall grade??? By far the allegedly best centered card by 2.5 full points and all other subs the same or close enough got a lower grade. See below. Am I nuckin futs or do I have an issue here? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
  8. I got back cards pretty quick. Problem is I think they have inexperienced graders working and sending cards through really quick. I have never complained about card grades from anyone before but im busting these open and sending to CSG. I think in order to rake in business SGC is half assing it bigtime. Done with them.
  9. so as a comic person for 40 years, love my cgc. I looked up CSG reviews and saw very positive reviews. Someday, somewhere sell prices will get to psa levels. I will take the hit to stick with CGC/CSA. I dont get the PSA thing at all. They certainly deserve their ROI, but they are not the only game in town, CGCs grading expertise is why i chose for my cards, WOW I totally sound like a tv infomercial. Look first time grader, researched. CSG is what I chose. Will totally get back to herfe after results,
